MarkScan Speaker & COO Ishita Singh shared her views on the prevalence and threat of piracy on internet at a conference organized by Indian National Bar Association (INBA) in June 2013 in Mumbai. She emphasized the need for technological solutions to combat digital piracy.
The conference brought together Legal Luminaries, Legal Departments of Fortune 500 companies, Senior Lawyers across the globe among others. The objective of the conference was to provide a platform for the Legal Community to discuss and deliberate on several important issues including Digital Piracy.
FICCI Mascrade
Our Founder and CEO discussed how counterfeiting is shifting from offline to online during a session of 4th edition of FICCI CASCADE’s International Conference – MASCRADE, 2017- Movement Against Smuggling and Counterfeit Trade in New Delhi in October 2017.
The theme of the conference was Protect Your Brand Globally: Fight Counterfeiting, Smuggling and Piracy. It was inaugurated and attended by Shri Shatrughan Sinha, former MP and Shri Suresh Prabhu, MP, Rajya Sabha. The conference was organized with an aim to ensure that national and international stakeholders can dialogue with policy makers to identify opportunities for joint action between governments and the private sector to combat illicit cross border trade.
IBHA-CIPAM Workshop
Indian Beauty and Hygiene Association in collaboration with Anand and Anand, Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM), INTA and REACT organised a workshop on “Challenges faced in IPR Enforcement Actions” on March 9, 2019 at IHC, New Delhi.
The gathering saw eminent speakers from the government, judiciary, and enforcement agencies. Our Founder, who was among the panellists, shared his views on “The Need for Interdepartmental Collaboration and a Centralized IPR Agency” and how active participation from all stakeholders would be essential for functioning of such an agency.
Eminent speakers from the government, judiciary, and enforcement agencies discussed issues such as Enforcement of IPR in the digital landscape – online counterfeiting and liabilities of intermediaries, Civil and criminal enforcement of IPR in Delhi; and The need for interdepartmental collaboration and a centralized IPR agency.
Assocham
Our COO Ishita Singh at the 4th International Conference on Intellectual Property Rights “Creative India; Innovative India” in October 2016. The conference discussed how National IPR policy 2016 will guide and enable all creators and inventors to realize their potential for generating, protecting, and utilizing IP which would contribute to wealth creation, employment opportunities and business development.
It will integrate and create synergies with IP related aspects of various sector specific policies and provide a roadmap for holistic, effective, and balanced development of the IP system in India.
IMI Conference
Our Founder and CEO represented MarkScan at the Indian Music Convention 2018, which was held in Mumbai with the theme ‘VISION 2022: India’s Roadmap to the Top 10 Music markets in the world by 2022’. The conference brought all the stakeholders of the Indian recorded music industry under the same roof.
Abhishek discussed how a framework developed by MarkScan helps content owners assess the impact of digital content protection on music industry and its ROI. The conference saw discussions on various issues ranging from Global Best Practices to Protection of Indian IP and Anti-Piracy Efforts in India.
